About Laura

I used to think my life was pretty boring. And that everyone else’s was pretty amazing. Then I met one of my roommates my junior year. Boy did she have stories to share! It was then I realized no one has a boring life…it just depends on how you tell the story.

My life has been filled with loving people, hurtful people, mission travels all over the world…strict lessons in the ways of money, hard lessons about how you come across is more important than the words you say, and life changing lessons about following God on faith.

I graduated from college in 2006 with a Bible and Theology degree and a Church Music minor, married my best friend that same year, and recently completed the Apprentice and Journeyman courses through the Christian Writer’s Guild.

My passions include God, understanding people and relationships, writing/reading, running, finances/budgeting, and I love being able to help others fulfill their potential.

I am a person who loves a challenge, so despite obstacles, I am excited for where my life is headed!

What did you think about the courses that you took through the Christian Writer’s Guild? Would you recommend them? What kind of writing do they prepare you for?

I loved the courses through the CWG! So of course I would recommend them 🙂 The Apprentice course is more generalized, hitting the basics. In the Journeyman you pick either a fiction track or a non-fiction track, and the course is much more focused. They give a pretty good description of each course online, click here for the Apprentice or here for the Journeyman. You have a mentor who receives and critiques your lessons via e-mail the entire way. There are a few other courses offered. I have not tried those yet, but I think they last for a shorter duration. The Apprentice is a two-year course, and the Journeyman is a one year.
